Vendor Spotlights

To further promote an awareness of the assistive technologies, Vendor Video Spotlights are provided below. Using videostreaming technologies, 15-minute assistive technology video presentations are available from a desktop computer. In addition, a full transcript of the video is provided for your convenience.

The following vendor videotapes are also available for a 10-day free loan by ORCLISH. Videotapes are delivered and picked up via UPS at no charge.

Video Synopsis: This video reviews visiting an integrated preschool classroom where students with disabilities have full access to a typical curriculum through the innovative use of high and low technology tools. Products being showcased include BigMack Communication Aid, PowerLink Control, SpeakEasy Communication Aid, Big Red Switch, and a Universal Switch Mounting System.

Prentke Romich Company
Video Synopsis: This video will introduce you to the Vantage and Vanguard communication aids from the Prentke Romich Company. Vantage is a portable device appropriate for young children or any ambulatory communicator. Vanguard is identical in function but has a larger display and is intended for wheelchair mounting. These devices feature Unity vocabulary programs that begin with 40 "single hit" words and transition to nearly 2,000 words, phrases and sentences. Vanguard/Vantage users can acquire language, generate sentences, participate in classroom activities and daily routines and become independent communicators.
